The Magnetic Hill Zoo is Atlantic Canada’s leading zoo that educates and inspires conservation action. Please read the following information to plan your visit.
Services
- Weather permitting, the outdoor areas in the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Discovery sections are open, along with the Ecodome and Imaginarium buildings.
- Weather permitting, the animal contact areas are open for alpacas, fallow deer, and goats. Visitors can get up close and may purchase feed from the on-site dispenser for $1 (a loonie). Change is available at Admissions.
- Join us for Keeper Talks: Learn about the animals and how you can help them in the wild.
- Caribou 11:30 a.m.
- Lion 1:30 p.m.
- Otter 3:30 p.m.
- Hot drinks and snacks are available for purchase in the vending machines inside the Acadian Forest Bistro (near the playground).
- The playground and all washrooms are open.
- Toddler carts are available to rent on arrival (first come, first served).
- You may not see every animal (or species) during your visit. Animals can choose to be indoors or in different areas of their habitat depending on the season/time of day.
Rainbow Registered
Starting in 2025, the Magnetic Hill Zoo is officially Rainbow Registered: a national accreditation that shows our ongoing commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for everyone.
TRAINED SERVICE DOGS
The Magnetic Hill Zoo is proud to be an accessible facility and welcomes handlers and their trained service dogs.
Therapy dogs/animals and emotional support dogs/animals are not permitted inside the Zoo.
